Tips & Tricks
For Handling Your Watch

  • Never operate pushers underwater – even if permitted
  • Be cautious with temperature changes: sauna = thermal shock
  • Close crowns properly: always check crown and pushers before water exposure
  • Rinse with fresh water after saltwater contact

Mechanical watch inaccurate or stopping?
These are classic signs that movement servicing is necessary. Possible reasons include:

  • Dried-out oils
  • Bearing wear
  • Magnetization
  • Impact damage (e.g. from cycling or motorcycling)

Rule of Thumb
Visit your watchmaker every 3–5 years – for value retention & precision.

Water Resistance of Watches

Modern wristwatches are often labeled as “water-resistant.” However, many customers underestimate how sensitive seals are to aging, chemicals (perfume, creams, cleaning agents), temperature fluctuations, impacts, and drops.

RECOMMENDATION: Have your watch’s water resistance checked at least once a year – ideally before summer holidays.
